Angie Chai collaborates with China to produce new idol drama starring Show Luo & Rainie Yang

‘Idol drama godmother’ Angie Chai & Beijing Modern Film Company’s collaborative idol drama ‘Shanghai Sweetheart’ will be filming in Hang Zhou soon. This drama stars Show Luo, cute princess Rainie Yang, and many other idol celebrities from the 2 straits. Since ‘Meteor Garden’ shot to fame, Angie has continued on the idol drama path. Recently, her other dramas ‘Miss No Good’, ‘Why Why Love’ which all star handsome guys, have broadcasted in mainland China. This time for ‘Shanghai Sweetheart’, board president of the Beijing Modern Film Company revealed: “This collaboration with Angie, whether it’s the size of the role, or the appearance of the actors, they have all been ideally chosen.”

‘Shanghai Sweetheart’ tells of Taiwan’s wealthy son Xue Hai (also known as Da Lang) heading to Shanghai to study. When his classmates bully him, senior Bao Zhu lends a helping hand, and the 2 begin their first relationship. One day, Taiwan’s advertising firm comes to the school to hold a ‘Queen Sweetheart’ competition. Bao Zhu wins first place, and from then on, everyone calls her ‘sweetheart’. However, Sweetheart’s father suddenly goes bankrupt, and he abandons her and her mother. Sweetheart has no choice but to move back to Taiwan with her mother, and due to a misunderstanding, she loses contact with Da Lang. After being abandoned, Da Lang turns into a playboy, until one day he sees her ‘Sweetheart’s Time’ show on TV. Da Lang buys the TV station, and thus begins his revenge plan on Sweetheart. However, when he sees Sweetheart go on a date with another guy, Da Lang realizes that he is still deeply in love with her, hence he decides to pursue her again. At this time, Sweetheart’s mother discovers that Da Lang’s older sister was actually Sweetheart’s father’s first love, and hence she strongly opposes their relationship, and the 2’s love heads into turmoil..

In ‘Shanghai Sweetheart’, Rainie & Show collaborate for the first time. Earlier, they filmed some test scenes to improve their tacit understanding. Besides intimate hugging & kissing, Show even spread his legs apart and stuck his butt out, imitating Zhu Ge Liang, and this made Rainie highly amused. Staff members revealed: “Because the 2 have never acted together, they have to film test scenes to improve their tacit understanding, but Show is really too funny la!”
