Show Lo Defeats Jolin Tsai, Winning Taiwan's Most Popular Artist at MTV Asia

Asia music's extravagant "2008 MTV Asia Awards" was held yesterday in Genting, Malaysia's city of entertainment. This year, luck has just been on Show Lo's side, after receiving the "Asia's Artist" award in Hong Kong along with 3 others, yesterday he received yet another award. He defeated past rumored girlfriend, Jolin Tsai, May Day and S.H.E and took home the Most Popular Artist of Taiwan Award. Show Lo was very touched and spoke in English. "Thank you MTV, Thank you EMI, Thank you my fans!"
Hosted by Karen Mok and 30 Seconds to Mars lead singer Jared Leto, the event was spectacular. Leona Lewis from England, the sexy Pussycat Dolls, Super Junior, One Republic, and any other artists attended and performed. Show Lo had especially chosen to wear a black tux to the event. The fans, who have been waiting for a while now, used all their might to scream out "Xiao Zhu, Xiao Zhu!" with their Malay accents.

This time, having defeated May day, taking this MTV Asia Award, on top of how fans say it's better than earning an award at the Golden Melodies, Show just says that "It sounds so awesome." To thank the fans, he kept his promise and used English to give thanks, "Hello everybody! My name is Show. I'm so exciting! [excited] My English is bad, but I try to say English. Thank you EMI Capitol. Thank you my fans, Thank you father & mother." Show also revealed that yesterday was also the 3 year anniversary of the his father's service. He thanked his father for always blessing and protecting him, helping him move up in his career.

Stefanie Sun, who took the Most Popular Artist in Singapore Award, had performed a piece with Electrico, "Save Our Souls" and then a rock version of "Ni Guang [Against the Light]." Stefanie Sun was dressed in black, rocker from head to toe.

After hearing that she won the award, Stefanie gave out a huge laugh and said she'd go gamble some. She jokingly said that when she was young, her parents would drive 7-8 hours to play in Genting, so she's incredibly familiar with the place, but the only place she's never been in, is the Casino. Stefanie laughed and said, "I seriously have bad gambling luck, every time I choose a number, it never wins." So she was talked out of gambling, but having very honorably earned the award for the 5th time, her wish is, "I have to gamble some, if I really lose, then I'm guessing I'll never enter a casino again."

With a rare chance of getting everyone together, Super Junior had a whole crowd of girls screaming wildly. Having once performed at the "Korea Taiwan Music in Harmony Concert" with Show Lo, the two meet again on an international stage, even Super Junior couldn't help to say that they must be fated. As for Taiwanese artists, they've had a deep impression from Vanness Wu and Jay Chou.
