(2010/12/21) Persistent STD rumours enrage Show Luo

When you are famous, the gossip and rumours never stop.

Taiwan singer-actor Show Luo found that out the hard way when rumours claiming he had contracted Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) and skin problems persisted, despite him releasing a detailed medical report that proved otherwise.

According to Taiwan media, netizens have recently raised questions about why he did not go for any tests in 2009, even though his records showed he had consistently done so since 2005, and why he only resumed testing in 2010.

They also pointed out that he went for urological tests twice this year, hinting that the sudden break followed by the frequent examinations suggest Luo had indeed contracted some sort of disease lately.

This proved to be the last straw for the 31-year-old, who lashed out at the source of the whole rumour, a netizen who claimed to be a nurse at a clinic Luo frequents.

“If he (the person who sparked the rumours) says anything more, I think he is insane,” said Luo indignantly during a publicity event on Sunday.

“If any nurse or doctor saw me, please produce my medical record [as proof].”
Luo explained that he underwent regular tests because he is worried that his busy lifestyle will take a toll on his health.

“I am already used to going for liver [examinations] every half a year, and a full-body check annually, because I often keep late nights … and my father has liver problems,” said an unusually serious Luo.

He reiterated that Rainie Yang and Amber Kuo, the two actresses who were implicated in the scandal, had nothing to do with the whole matter.

Luo also threatened to sue those who are caught spreading these rumours about him

Makes me upset. Why does the media have to bash famous people? Just because they are famous dosn't mean that they don't have feelings. Show, Jia You! Keep it up...and if the person keeps slandering you...go ahead and sue them! They have no right to try to ruin your reputation. Jia You!

if the one who spread the rumors is really a nurse, then he is definitely violating the principle of confidentiality and he could really be sued for that... but im not saying what he is saying is true...
i still believe in show and i believe that he doesn't have such disease...

oh well, reporters are like that, it's their job to write news, true or not. if that person who's spreading the rumour insists on the issue, he or she should provide evidence. but if that person is only doing it for money or any personal gain, then he is just degrading himself.

Show has such a kind heart why do this to him. Let's pray for Show and especially that nurse that this news may stop and the nurse will find something better to do instead of this

I simply cannot believe how ridiculus and idiotic the media can be..why can't they ever say a nice thing about him? hasn't he gone through enough pain? they just wanna sell headlines, this will just further fuel the truth that the media is tainted by money and power. it's so sad to see people like show who work so hard, just to get criticism and fake news.

ps. the fact that a "nurse" said it, makes me even more mad, i'm studying to be a nurse and one of the most important rules is confidentiallity, brings disgrace to nurses everywhere...

oh? well my sister is gonna be a pharmacist, but yea...i wanted to be a doctor then thought nahhh no one would take me seriously

WOW. They have seriously gone too far. I don't mind him having scandals rumours floting around but STD rumours are totally WTF. (I feel like i can start cursing in so many different languages here, it's really depressing)

Can't they sue or something? Because if it's Korea, suing is actually the best remedy. LOL. If you have proof and everything, of course. I wouldn't even mind chipping in money for his lawsuit.
